November 11, 2022, Mount Washington Hotel
North Country Public Safety Foundation recognition dinner
On Friday evening November 11, 2022, the North Country Public Safety Foundation's awards dinner was held at the Mount Washington Hotel. Approximately 250 people were in attendance. Sitting at the table sponsored by the NHRSTA was Mrs. Jeanne Bruno, Trooper Mike Bruno (Troop D) and his trainee, Coos County Attorney John McCormick, Grafton County Attorney Marcie Hornick, Littleton Police Chief Paul Smith, Canaan Police Chief Sam Frank and his wife, and Retired NHSP Sergeants Guy and Kathy Kimball.
This year's award in memory of Detective Sergeant Robert Bruno was presented to NH State Police Detective Sergeant Jonathan "Jay" Stephens. Jay had worked for many years at Troop F where he built a very good reputation as a detective and in the spring of this year, he transferred to Troop D to fill the Detective Sergeant position. The selection committee felt that his service in the North Country was certainly in line with the intent of the Bruno Award. Jay was surprised at the recognition and humbled by it.
